Hello Africa!!!

This weekend the Bakeshop received an order for an African themed 80th Birthday cake. 80 years!!! This deserved a big celebration! The customer sent me the basic idea she wanted which was the square gift box cake with the stars in brown and ivory , and I added the ethnic touches.
Everything was hand made and completely edilble. It had everything from a spear and shield,to clay pots to cow hide mats!!

Latest Cake Pops Idea!

Have a look at this new idea at the Bakeshop!!! We thought it would be fun and quirky to use mini cupcake cases on our cake pops. And look how cute they turned out!!
We're loving this new idea!

These were done for a bridal shower so we used a fun polka dot print...

Another Cupcake Bouquet!

The Bakeshop has become big fans of cupcake bouquets since I received mine from Aadila for my birthday (see post " Birthdays, Bouquets, and Besties!")
Here is one we did for eid. I really hate that eventually you have to throw your flowers away. This way you get to eat them instead!!

Eid Sa'eed!!

Bakeshop customers were inspired by our recent diwali mini cakes and ordered eid mini cakes to give as gifts to family and friends. We used pastel colours with touches of gold painted on. The cakes were vanilla sponge covered in vanilla buttercream.

We also received an order for cookies to match the mini cakes. The combination was really cute and a great gift idea!

The packaged cakes ready for delivery.

Birthdays, Bouquets, Besties!!

For my 22nd Birthday I received the most amazing cupcake bouquet from my best friend Aadila (You've heard about her a few times now) :) It looked just like real roses and tasted amazing too!!!!
Had to share it with my bakeshop fans!

THANK YOU AADY!!!!!!

Cake pop Bouquet!!

This cake pop bouquet was ordered by a customer for her Mom's birthday. She wanted it to replace the ordinary flowers that she would normally send so i used a florally garden theme. The end result was really cute and made one mum very happy on her special day.
The pops were vanilla cake mixed with a vanilla buttercream.

A Baby Girl!

Tiny yawns and sleepy sighs, nursery rhymes and lullabies....
This cute two tier cake was made for a baby shower order. It was the girly version of one I had made a few months back for my sister's baby shower.

Regal Wedding!!

Its wedding time at the Bakeshop!!!! I recently received an order for a wedding cake in ivory and regal purple. What a rich combination!! I was really excited to do this one as, to me, there's no cake more special than a couple's wedding cake.
I used a simple design using handmade roses to tie in the purple, and pearls to add a touch of glamour.
The bottom tier was rich chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream and the top tier a creamy vanilla cake covered in vanilla buttercream.
Congratulations to the happy couple!!

Cookies to match the wedding cake. These make great wedding favours. Or even as a little gift to your bridesmaids.

Festival of Lights**

During Diwali it is customary for families to send a plate of eats to their friends, neighbours and families. At the bakeshop we had a order for individually packaged mini cakes. The perfect Diwali gifts.
These were chocolate coffee cakes with a chocolate buttercream.
The bright colours really had a festive Diwali feel to it.....

Check out these super cute co-ordinated cookies. The perfect addition to the mini cake gift.

The final packaged gift.
