Masquerade Ball

I recently received an order to make cupcakes for a masquerade party. As soon as i got the call my imagination was racing since this is one of my favourite themes! I love the mystery and glamour that goes with the masks.
I used deep, rich colours and made the masks sparkle with glitter and touches of gold. I wanted them to reflect true glamour.
The cupcakes were chocolate with a chocolate butter cream.

Little Liyana

This cake was made for an order to celebrate the birth of a beautiful baby girl, Liyana.
I wanted it to be clean and simple to reflect the purity of a newborn baby, while at the same time having a touch of playfulness.

The design was to create alphabet blocks that spelt out Liyana, and to have these blocks sitting on a baby blanket.

The end result was adorable!!

Burberry Surprise!!

This Burberry inspired cake was made for a surprise order. One very lucky young lady got this creation delivered to her doorstep on her birthday. It was a surprise from her fiance. So romantic! <3
He said that she loved Burberry and was a real girly girl who loved shoes!! I worked with that, and this is what I created.
The cake was vanilla sponge filled with vanilla buttercream.

These three little dresses were the perfect finishing touch. And so much fun to make!!

And of course, every dress needs a hanger!! Everything on this cake was completely edible and handmade.

Graduation!!!!

My best friend Aadila recently graduated with a Bachelor of Accounting Science Degree. (She's a real brain!)
At the Bakeshop we celebrate all major occasions with cake! So of course, I had to make her an amazing graduation cake!

Even Baby Yusuf, my nephew, got in on the action!

Well done Aady!!!!!!!!

Love is in the Air!!

These red and white cake pops were made for a proposal celebration. The client wanted her, and her fiance's names on the pops and was going to use it as the center piece of her dessert table.

They were red velvet, with a rich cream cheese frosting, covered in white chocolate. YUMM!!

Each pop was carefully hand painted using edible paint powders.

I thought these would make great valentines day gifts as well :)
